About me

1992, Tokyo Japan. 'Distance' is an important keyword for my work; I often use the overlooked places as subject matter. I used this kind of place because it is easy to secure the silence as such a place has no authority. This subjective connection is fragile, however, viewers may start to find their own connection within the unnamed place after they return to their daily life. If allowed, I could say fragments of vision may continue to live in the viewers' unconscious mind. As globalization progresses, people of different religions and ways of thinking are mixed without division. Could these unimportant connections become a common silence for everyone in this global age?
