I am a student from University of The Arts London. I’m a graduate from the BA Fashion Jewellry course. Since the Chinese government started focusing on saving Chinese traditional craft, more and more young people in China started to have an interest in traditional culture. Growing up in a traditional family, my life contains lot of traditional elements. That made me have more and more interest in history. As myself, I love traditional Chinese crafts, but many handcrafts have been lost now. They can make a product full of human emotion. I think it’s a pity. My collection is to show that traditional handicrafts can convey and carry a lot of emotions, so that more people will pay attention to the traditional crafts and pass them on. To make people aware of traditional culture, telling stories is good. For me, jewellery is a carrier of memory and stories. As a designer, I have got the opportunity to show people the attractive things about Chinese traditional culture and craft.
