Antonio De Santis (b.1993 Ascoli Piceno, Italy) works and studies in London. Since 2016 he has produced works that investigates the impact of trauma on an individual in relation to its psychological environment. At first, specifically oriented on the consequences that a trauma has on the process of identification. Then, he had embarked on the quest of hypothesizing the existence of an Aesthetic that could embrace all the instances of a traumatic event in and on itself. The other set of interests that surfaces in the most recent video work, investigates the battle for the grasp of the individual between biology, culture and self through a contact with a statue that triggers a set of question explained in the work Two Birds With One Stone's description.Antonio had studied in Berlin for five months (2019/20) under the teaching of prof. Monica Bonvicini and has been awarded the Artkeys Prize for Contemporary Art (video art section) in 2020. He is advancing on a Mres: Theory and Philosophy of Contemporary Art at Central Saint Martins in order to develop his aesthetics's hypothesis to a competitive academic standard.
