Chelsea College of Arts
MA Fine Art
Born in 1995 in Girona, Angel de Leon spent the first 19 years of his life living in Barcelona where his interest in the visual arts formed its roots. In 2015 he moved to London, UK where he began his Foundation studies at The Art Academy. De Leon subsequently went on to graduate from Wimbledon College of Arts with a BA in Painting. During his time at Wimbledon, he was taught by Neal Tait and Nelson Diplexcito and his interest in figuration began. De Leon also undertook an intensive Contemporary Art programme at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London and, following that, an MA at Chelsea College of Arts, London. De Leon has developed an interest in the curation of exhibitions in unconventional spaces and different venues. Shows he both organised and participated in include ASCENT at the Royal Opera Arcade Gallery, London (2018); Paradox at Plataforma, Barcelona (2019), a multidisciplinary immersive art exhibition at the city ́s iconic nightclub; The MAFA International Festival at The Cookhouse Gallery, London (2019); and the now pos- tponed exhibition “Dead Painters And New Conceptualists” to be held in an old Crypt in London. He is currently based between London and Barcelona, where he lives and paint.
