Alberto Maggi is an italian artist, born in Rome. He studied biology with a focus on the world of botany. Than he studied sculpture, using clay as main medium. In his practice he is inspired by the mythological idea of metamorphosis in which the human body is merged with a plant or animal form to generate a sort of Chimera. Metamorphosis are for him a way to speak about multiplicity of contemporary identity, where different parts are merged together to form ourselves.
