MDes International Fashion Production Management
This project is the final outcome of over a years worth of research and development for my Masters degree in International Fashion Production Management at a distinction level. It is the result of 4 hears studying and working in the field of fashion production and sustainability. Zirow is a zero-waste fashion initiative challenging pre-consumer waste in the form of the off-cut pattern waste created within production. The final physical outcome provides two Zero-waste patterns. The USP of this project is the producibility of these garments, they have been designed and produced for a mainstream high street market, which is reflected in their design, production, costing and sourcing. The resulting garment and pattern has been meticulously created for this specific market segment and therefore has also been graded zero-waste, which developed pioneering new concepts in pattern cutting and production. The project has been set out in the accompanying portfolio and dissertation, and an overview is communicated in the short film. Equipped with the knowledge gained from this unique course, and a love and drive for garment production, I am looking to delve into the industry to achieve my goal of becoming a fashion production manager in the future. My in-depth taught knowledge, drive and development gained from self-directed study and my work experience paired with a enthusiasm for this field give me the tools to make my mark in the industry.
