BA (Hons) Illustration
In all that I do, I place great importance on creating things that give that ‘heart swelling’ feeling* that my favourite works give me - often this takes the form of short films, inky illustrations and short writings. I endeavour to find the positive, in both light and heavy subject matters, with the ultimate goal of moving people.I have always been a deep thinker. Throughout childhood I kept piles of notebooks and sketchbooks containing thoughts and observations, and spent the rest of my time rescuing things from the bin to be made into something new. As it turns out, very little has changed - the pile of sketchbooks now fills many a cupboard, and my family check first if I want the thing that they are about to throw away. You are now most likely to find me making, drawing, writing or thinking (whilst listening to a film score or watching a British sitcom of some kind).*This can come from witnessing all sorts of things, which I often then become obsessed with. I list them every month over on the ‘stuck in my head’ page - some of my constant obsessions, however, include:- ink- ballet (especially those choreographed by Kenneth MacMillan)- the British seaside- building flatpack furniture- film scores- cereal- bagpipes- and, most importantly, all the films that make me cry:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGtP5MOBpfQ
