BA (Hons) Culture, Criticism and Curation
Finishing BA with a dissertation titled "Stopping the Cockroach Run’: Resistance, Rebellion and Reverence Towards National Culture in Contemporary Russian Rap", I argue that cultural symbolic representations inside rap texts have empowered national identity, bringing unity and collectiveness upon Russian youth community. Whilst developing a strong interest in Identity as an academic field I am proceeding into MA in Public Archaeology. In combination with my curatorial expertise harnessed through my work with museum institutions I am working to build sustainable heritage management skills to construct appropriate, innovative and creative development schemes as implemented by UNESCO, ICOMOS and English Heritage, reinforce diverse and wise use of heritage in the UK, and encourage the realization of the field’s multi-functional potential. Higher education will allow me to further critique the ostensible withdrawal of the human element from cultural heritage, and argue for the reestablishment of a spiritual connection between people, culture, and the ever present canvas on which both thrive: our planet.
