Hesi Glowacki creates compositions that imbue reality with elements of fantasy, to indicate emotions and spirituality that underly physical aesthetics. He uses figuration and abstraction, juxtaposing the primitive with the contemporary. Influenced by the interest in alchemy, materials, and process-oriented performative approach, Glowacki engages with the meditative qualities of art-making through painting and sculpture. Glowacki directly saturates his narration with the allusion to literature, poetry, and symbolism. Invoking cultural and religious identity, the connectivity of body and nature, memory, and trauma, he set up cycles of deconstruction and repair and marks the promise of change. All these ambiguous work seems to connect and separate, and create an infinite number of interpretations and interactions with the viewer. Hesi Glowacki’s works can be found in private collections worldwide. He lives and works in London.
