My work is a reaction to the anti-blackness and misogynoir that exists in and is perpetuated through society, the aim is to create a visual experience that uplifts black women, specifically. When creating my work, I looked at my own personal experiences and thought about how I wanted to be viewed and treated. There is an inevitable black, feminine and spiritual quality to my work, as those elements are integral to my being and I hope this translates visually.
