My practice centres sentiment, memory and nostalgia. Accepting our collective forgetfulness, trying to find some celebration in it, even some whimsy. I have found a basis for this in the silent comedies of filmmaker Buster Keaton. The system of storytelling in these films, their slapstick bodily grandeur, have made me consider film as a temporal and ghostly medium. Pinning moments in time to cultural memory. Stuck in collective consciousness, to be adored for as long as some interest remains.
