The idea came around midyear 2019 while exploring the anti-aesthetic movement, mainly ‘The Fountain’ by Duchamp where the focus lays on the formal aspects of an object, rather than its function. People tend to associate the bathroom with something personal, dirty, or unpresentable, but in reality, the bathroom hides some real treasures. Through a painting of a sink and studies of bubble bath, I created a still life composition of a bath as the main project in search of beauty.
