These pieces resemble the journey that leads through different situations and places of my life - Architecture, industrial materials, weaving, heritage - and it is about finding my unique personal identity as a designer and maker. I intend to create a unique aesthetic and design identity that borrows details from personal and professional experience. Assembling different backgrounds where I have been involved as an Industrial and contemporary Designer, additionally to incorporate the aesthetics that have influenced me; the culture and heritage of Colombia (my origin country). This project involved multiple materials and processes. The shapes and the assembly of the pieces in acrylic frame were designed in the software 3D Rhinoceros, they were laser cut and polished by hand. To connect all the acrylic parts brass screws were used. The patterns to cut the vegetal leather were created in Rhinoceros. With the interlacing of the silk threads around the acrylic structure, the graphic aesthetics of the piece is accomplished. The location of each thread allows the creation of the graphic composition, and generates a space that gives more volume and three-dimensionality to the piece.
