Golden Goddess headdress for a collaborative project with a photographer friend, inspired by the winter solstice and the golden sunlight at this time of year. The gown is shimmering gold chiffon with a metallic thread, very voluminous and billowing, inched in with a metallic gold corset.

Autumn Fairy Costume
Ragged Autumn Fairy. Made from distressed black mesh and recycled knitwear, with Strategic Leaves. The skirt is draped from slightly iridescent yellow chiffon and scraps of lace and mesh.
Lost in the Garden
The tunic is inspired by military uniforms and the 'Havah' gowns worn by Vorin women in the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. The ornate white-painted ironwork of the glasshouses at Kew inspired me to add these sheer embroidered sleeves - the fabric os slightly stiff so the sleeves are delicate yet structural and hold a voluminous shape. I also wanted to create a fantasy, forest-ranger character, lost exploring the Kew jungle like a conquistador.

Autumn Fairy Design Painting
in the art nouveau style of Alphonse Mucha because I'm a huge fan, and Mucha's work often depicts women as representations of the seasons or of nature, so it's fitting.

Autumn Leaves
I really wanted to avoid using craft leaves for this project - I wanted something more organic, and at the same time, less realistic than craft leaves. These are made from second-hand gold foiled leather and brown leather scraps, plus some gorgeous burnt orange fabric with a gold printed pattern. And red and black biro pen!

We decided to choose a setting completely in contrast to the iconic Blade Runner rain-soaked city, and instead design a replicant character that had been stranded on a desert planet after their space transport had crashed.
