A Gestural Scroll catalogues two people’s virtual back and forth exploring the bigger themes at play when a man tends to his garden. What began as an investigation into how we can fashion our own sense of heaven on earth; a pre-afterlife, afterlife, took a highly personal turn which spanned themes of the self & body, relaying this to how movements explain gesture and class as well as performance towards suburban perfection.
In trying to make sense of Gordon (the gardener)‘s manoeuvres we explored each others’ connections to these themes and spoke the project into life, existing in the space between our two minds. This website becomes a body of work where you can navigate our conversations and endlessly looping concepts which fold in on themselves at every turn.
