This project is based on the book of Revelation found in the New Testament of the Bible, and in particular looking at the first four scrolls read aloud to highlight the events that shall begin to happen and gradually get worse, the Four Horseman; Pestilence, War, Famine and Death.
Using these key themes and the tragic history and ongoing affect in our planet I decided to design these four haunting characters and create two, Pestilence and Famine. Looking in key deign influences Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen I wanted to create these characters using a key item of clothing that I could grow from and from that I decided to create corsets. Using a variety of different shapes, textures and materials, I have created The Four Corsets of the Apocalypse.
