This work is a collaboration with another costume student. Together we designed and produced the tutu costume of a character from the ballet Swan Lake, the black swan Odile.
We created a world board and a mood board to help us to design the costume. To explore the options we switched different fabrics and shades of color, and we also experimented with a variety of techniques to achieve the image and mood that we wanted – dyeing, fabric textures, etc. The pages below show a record of the process we used to produce the final outcome.
