During the outbreak of COVID-19, we are required to keep a one-meter distance between each other to prevent the viruses from spreading throughout our community and crowd. It could be a new phenomenon that we practice it everywhere, no matter in the supermarkets or at the bus stop. I created a series of fashion design to express this social distancing culture. I designed the exaggerating silhouette and styles to make it physically impossible to “get close”. Besides, I used color, fabric and patterns to express different feelings that we experienced during this special epidemic. Where we stand and how we stand is quite different from the past. We are more aware of our bodies, of other bodies, of how we now occupy space and begin to introspect the impact our bodies have on the environment, on the economy, and on each other socially, physically, and emotionally. This is something we have never perceived before.
