In my project, I was inspired by Calvin Klein's invitation of black plus-size trans models to endorse the underwear line, which caused a huge controversy on the Internet. Non-traditional models appear in more and more ads in today's life, and I think this has become the new normal trend. My project form are two ads posters which are called 'new perfect female models’. I drew two mock advertising posters and designed three characters that featured non-traditional female models, showing two different products. In the poster, I used sharp words to contrast with confident female models, symbolizing non-traditional female models who suffered from many social debates. I hope to show women's confidence and power and make different types of non-traditional female models available to more people.
