The crowd and cities

My project is called The Crowd and Cities. This project started in 2018. In the very beginning, I wanted to focus on China’s population density, which was influenced by Andreas Gusky’s work. Gusky's works focus on themes representing the spirit of the times, and he tends to create a contemporary way to describe them. In order to realize this goal, Gusky traveled to many cities to find a scene about large group activities. My pictures view is like that of Gursky’s work, using high angles and large format. But the outbreak impacted my project in some way, so l have to change the theme. I try to recording how the epidemic influenced the city, and how big changes about the city.
