My Sparkling Fat

This series of soap works explores the relationship between freedom and imprisonment under the concept of "protection" during the COVID-19 period, and helps people achieve a balance between emotions and behavior. There are two very different extreme attitudes towards cleaning and protection: overprotection and resistance to protection. I use my work to record people's anxiety about personal protection under the new normal: overeating and excessive cleaning. I use soap, a specific cleaning product, to simulates cleaning products in a broad sense and people's increasing fat accumulation, and make its color and texture visually softer and more comfortable. I built a "shelter" with comfortable soap bar to relieve the anxiety of these people. At the same time, I use accessories such as rings to enhance the freedom of using cleaning and protective equipment, so that those who resist can effectively protect themselves while experiencing "freedom" and "coolness". I wrote this slogan: "my hands are clean, my fat is fragrant, my anxiety becomes soap bubbles, and the soap bubbles are sparkling." To deal with the new normal, new mentality and measures should be proposed and become another "new normal". And I think “My Sparkling Fat” should be one of them.
