Faint Light
The photographic work “Faint Light”, which I created for the new normal project, is a selfie. The inspiration of it comes from a famous saying of the great Chinese writer Lu Xun: “If there is no torch, I am the only light." Except for the yellow light and the red pills, the work was processed into black and white photos in order to present a sense of depression and suffocation, forming a strong contrast. I only revealed a little bit of my chin with a mask and hid in the dark in order to eliminate personal characteristics. In addition, I used a lot of symbolic elements in the subject, which not only reflects the current epidemic situation but also contains metaphors for life. I intend to awaken more youths to bring more positive energy to our society through this work.
