During the quarantine
Thinking about quarantine under the epidemic, and exploring the different effects of quarantine on people. The works are video installations, which are displayed in the form of photos and short videos, with the processing programming tools to make dynamic images.
My artwork is inspired by personal experience, I want to use my own experience and feelings to explore the thoughts brought to people by this quarantine life that people have never been contact, including the past, present and future . Stand in different situations and think about how it exists to us and what it brings us. I finally use abstract patterns in my artwork, because abstract patterns and colors can express emotions better than concrete things, such as the red and white mesh pattern in the first scene. The contrast between red and white strongly expresses fear and unknown.
The work is divided into three parts, the first part, the past: No contact, resistance, fear. As for why the mesh pattern is used, I have surveyed friends，in their impression, quarantine is like a cage, which makes people lose their freedom. The second part, now: thinking in quarantine, the colored houses around the characters in the image gradually turn into dark backgrounds, and there are more and more messy lines. This expresses the complex emotions from resistance to gradual loss when they begin to accept Isola quarantine. After that, the colored lines gradually increased, and the characters were holding mobile phones. This showed an interesting problem：When people have freedom, they are often immersed in the virtual online world, but when they lose freedom, they begin to yearn for real life. Contradiction, isolation makes people realize the importance of real life. The third part，future: the soft lines and the blue tone express a quiet emotion. The reason for this is that people will have new thinking about quarantine after isolation. Maybe some people will rationally and objectively think quarantine is a good way to protect the health of themselves and their family, maybe some people still think that he is a terrible thing, stay away in the future. But the same thing is that through the quarantine, people understand the preciousness of freedom.
