Ballet Russes: Concealed Histories is the interim show of MACC, exhibiting costumes collection of Ballet Russes from Archives and Special Collections Centre in the Triangle Space in Chelsea College of Arts. As a collective exhibition, the exhibition displayed 18 pieces of garments and objects of the dance troupe, through presenting the fulfilled details and relative archives, to interpret the audience the legendary history of one of the most influential ballet companies of the 20th century. Moreover, to investigate how these collections lead a historical and contemporary reconsideration of the ballet troupe in terms of its design, choreography and music (some are from publications). However, the exhibition was eventually cancelled due to the public health crisis, and was turned into a private view in the ESW. All the objects we are using were from the collection of ASCC, with the theme of ‘concealed histories’ and the curatorial concept of ‘Spectrality’, the project constructed a space where the objects can tell their stories with the marks that left by both time and dancers.
