Fluctuation

The source of inspiration is the instability of the "New Normal" and how my emotions fluctuate. I threaded ribbons of plastic through canvas to create a sense of irregularity in order to represent that emotional fluctuation. The sense of irregularity is further enhanced through the use of acrylic paint applied in a random manner. The colours, blue for sadness, black for danger, orange for excitement, green for hope, yellow for nervousness, are smeared together to represent the tumult of emotions. As a whole, it is a highly textured painting depicting a topography of the upheaval in my emotional landscape.
