Due to the rapid garment industrialization, our traditional textile manufacturing became obsolete and it started to disappear in modern lives. Zha-ran (a Chinese traditional stitch-resist tie-dye textile art form), as one of the most ancient textile-dying techniques, is seemed to come a dead end. So ‘how to revive the sustainable development of Zha-ran among young generation?’ became to my project question. So far, I built up social media accounts as an “online museum” platform and offline workshops to attract young people’s attention. Furthermore, I started to use imagination to design art forms with zha-ran fusion to grow innovative sustainability.
