Poplars
Animation helps to capture concepts and emotions through its abstraction. As a creator, I'm fascinated by moving around surrealistic scenarios. The story begins with an introductory message. Three trees are located in a remote olive grove in the center is Lesvos island in Greece. The largest was planted when the main character was young and so on two respectively when his children were born. The story begins with the. three heroes (father and two sons) in the car. Approaching their estate they pass among many olive groves. They see farmers on the job, the techniques and the ways in which they collected the olives, the clothes their food, etc. In the car the father before each crossroads asks the sons from now a direction to turn, like a game to locate the field and memorize it course. When they arrive in the field, the father brings her harvesting equipment olive and the children run to the small lake under the three poplar trees. .t • • The father as he sees them heading towards the trees, also starts running, but he gets tired fast and stasis. To his surprise, he notices that the 3 trees are also breathing as if coordinated with his lungs. He stops noticing this strange phenomenon and 4 lights a cigarette. His surprise continues as the trees begin to grow rapidly each time they inhale the smoke. Another inhalation of smoke and everything seems to be moving fast the trees are flying and rising sharply while his children return to him, Although they have grown up enough. Parallel perceived that the way of life accelerates his life and deprives him of moments, trapped in his evils habits and in the field he continues until the end of the cigarette the end of his existence. In the last scene the little son, now an adult comes to the estate with his car with the help of the voice of the GPS and observes the three trees where they are all now at the same height. The camera focuses on trees. A coordinated breath like this can still be seen as if his memory in the trees prolongs his existence. As long as those Trees breathe, he is still alive. FORMAT For this production, the target audience is all the different ages and people who experienced the loss of their favorite persons. It has an empowering message and I want anyone to feel happy that they experience a connection with the dead person and not grief.
