Unrest 2.0 is a sound sculpture that explores the act of protest through the internet as a response to the rise of far-right politics seen globally in recent years. The piece makes use of sonification processes to extract real-time data from the global Twitter feed. It creates melodies in concordance with the number of tweets that are likely to have content related to a variety of anti-conservative movements. Unrest 2.0 is a physical installation that invites people to experience the global unrest through the analysis of the data generated by social media platforms, through the use of sound created by strong mechanical and percussive movements.
