Ikuta explores the original Noh Theatre performance script- the journey of a mortal boy searching for his father who died in war. For this narrative I chose to design for contemporary ballet performance, focusing on the movement and momentum expressed in the narrative, drawing reference to the traditional Noh theatre masks and Japanese kimono silhouettes. Within this project i also explored creating repeat patterns inspired by a series of drawings i created in response to Ikuta themes.
