Numerous fairy tales, and the legends behind them, are actually watered-down versions of uncomfortable historical events. Their horrific origins, which often involve rape, incest, torture, cannibalism and other hideous occurrences, are brimming with sophisticated and brutal morality. Grimm's fairy tales were changed again and again by the brothers. It has been changed for 45 years, and the 7th edition has been revised, but it still retains a part of bloody and violent content to prove its significance in a special historical period. I will research the original version (of fairy tales) and combine it with the brutal history event doing the design work. Digging deep in to some artists like Willy Rizzo, Paula Rego，Kiki Smith，Natalie Frank （The Grimm Fairytales's drawings），Angela Carter (BLOODY CHAMBER, writing fairy tales in feminism, mordern) Nicole Eisenman. The film TALE OF TALES, THE COMPANY OF WOLVES and the book The uses Of Enchantment written by Bruno Bettelheim. Follow the detial of research process, choose one fairy tale and create a sketchbook with the whole development process, a research file, reflective journal and a small scale costume experiment.
