During our first year of the third term of our course at UAL, we collaborated with the 3D, makeup and prosthetics students to create a full character on the text 'Cabaret' (1966).
Consolidation and Collaboration - Sally Bowles design
This is my final design for my character Sally Bowles, one of the main characters from the 'Kit Kat Klub' within the text. The inspiration for our designs was that the main character, Clifford Bradshaw, had fallen asleep upon entering the club and dreamed up the characters that we designed. The clothing, set and makeup was be inspired by 1920s Berlin but warped with unusual elements such as colour of the hint of BDSM wear.
Consolidation and Collaboration - Model fittings (model - Sasha Neema Ponte)
These are a collection of photos from the fitting of my model, Sasha Neema Ponte. I used a silk for the halter top, shorts and the coat. Around the collar of the coat I used pink fur, styling the shape around fur collars used on 1920s coats and to reference a fur coat that Sally is described as wearing in the text.

The choker, harness and garter were created using black elastic, sliver metal curtain rail hoops and garter straps that I fitted to the model's body.

The halter top were fastened at the neck and complete with hook and eye at the back while the shorts were fastened at the side with a placket with snap fastenings.

The harness, chocker and garter straps stretched enough to be allowed to be pulled on rather than have an opening.

The halter top was originally intended to be a bra, however I altered it to be a halter top to better show the back of the harness.
Consolidation and Collaboration - Makeup Test (model - Sasha Neema Ponte, makeup - Beau Tiger Wilson)
These photos show the first initial tests of our makeup design for the character Sally Bowles, my partner for the makeup was Beau Tiger Wilson, a student from the makeup and prosthetics course.

The makeup for Sally Bowles incorporated painted prosthetics, a wig, face paint and false eyelashes to produce a dramatic effect inspired by the Russian artist Alexej Georgewitsch Von Jawlensky.
Consolidation and Collaboration - Presentation
This photo shows the finished costumes for our characters. To the left is the Emcee, the second character as part of our collaboration by Julia Sasaki Hernanz and Sophie Yeff, in the middle is the puppet created by our 3D Effects for Performance and Fashion student Maria Wende after the character Sally Bowles and on the right is my character designed by myself and Beau Tiger Wilson.
Consolidation and Collaboration - Presentation
To complete the characters, we attempted to incorporate elements of the painted makeup onto the clothes using prosthetics that were created to look like brush strokes.
Consolidation and Collaboration
Overall the collaboration was very successful and I was pleased to have worked with such inspired individuals for the project.
