According to the United Nations, at least 800 species are affected by marine debris, 80% of which are plastic waste. Fish, seabirds, sea turtles and marine mammals may become entangled or swallowed by plastic debris, causing suffocation, starvation and drowning. In addition, some plastics will quickly form tiny plastic particles during the process of being eaten by animals, hiding in food and affecting people's health. In this project, I will design a sculpture related to ocean plastic pollution to warn people that we are causing irreversible damage to marine life.
