In reaction to recent pressures of sea-level rising and greenhouse gas emission, the project envisions the repurposing of an outdated apparatus, the offshore oil rig. Off the coast of the China South Sea, an abandoned oil rig is found, and an opportunity is seized. The setting is in the not-so-distant future, where sea-level continues to rise to cover the majority of the earth, crude oil as depleted beyond human reach. Mankind migrates to the ocean surface for a new “floating” era of living and gathering, the new solutions must be attained.
