Fashion or Survival
My project is titled Fashion or Survival. The starting point for my inspiration for this project was water pollution. The garment industry is serious pollution to the environment and more and more waste is being dropped into the ocean, causing seawater pollution. Therefore, through my project and my work I want to make people have the awareness to reduce the waste of fabrics or materials in the process of making garments and to use natural or waste materials as much as possible. Also to avoid using a lot of outer packaging when buying. I decided that when making the final garment for this project I would try to buy as little as possible and then use items that I have at home that I would like to use, and advise people to use as few bags as possible when buying clothes. This is a way to reduce pollution to a certain extent. The structure, detail, and silhouette of my process were inspired by the deformation of the human skeleton due to water pollution. I tried different materials of different hardnesses. Finally, I chose soft paper to record the structures and shapes.
