The Moth's Flight Path

‘The Moth’s Flight Path’ is part of an ongoing exploration of Cosmism and Identity, using multi media as visual philosophy to explore ontological questions about the meaning of existence. This project proposes that it is within the innate nature of human beings to search for the meaning of life. Multimedia abstract sculptures are used to create winding pieces that form dramatic, bizarre shapes, just like the lines of the flight path of moths. Long exposures record the moth’s path, in this way extracting its physical flight searching for the light to evoke the innate human search for meaning. Specifically, the moth’s haphazard trajectory never approaches the entrance to the flame, just as the human being cannot escape the finite laws of the universe.
