As a designer, I concentrate on working the relationship between artefacts and the human body. Making crafts through experimentation with a wide variety of materials is the main point of my work. In ‘Body secrets: sense memory vessel’, this series of work, I explored many private, interactive plaster casts of beautiful curved parts of human bodies to create vessels that could hold suggestive memory and space. I used wood and leather to give the appearance of these body parts, wood feels warm, and leather like a second skin, which also retains scent on the surface suggestively. They give more warmth and vitality to the memory vessels. This series of sculptural objects focuses on human bodies’ interactions and connections to intimate relationships and their subtle reactions to memories. They can be exclusively personalized. Through positive and negative curve interaction between different parts of the body and objects, we can feel ourselves and experience interactive memories and space. In this project, I'm trying to take the audience into a new, special, sensory and personal space through this series of sculptural ‘vessels’.
