For this short and exciting project, I was contacted by the professor in Material Technology and Design at LCF to develop some work on the metamaterials, consequently to be used as content for web and social media by Innovate UK. The main goal was to provide simple visual examples of metamaterial applications. As I worked collaboratively with two other designers, I was responsible for the production of illustrations and animations for thermal and optical categories (presented below). As a team, following our brainstorming workshop, we developed the idea to demonstrate how everyday life could be improved if metamaterials were used by showing ‘before’ and ‘after’ the metamaterial implementation.
