Inspired by night skies and the light that education brings, Grayson’s robes are flowing and ethereal: a design that provides both presence and comfort by using a lightweight navy fabric sourced from The Cloth Shop in Portobello Road for the main fabric, which will be accentuated with splashes of gold paint and beading. Handcrafted gold metallic trims from India will add a regal touch to the sleeve cuffs, hem, and seams throughout the garment.
The design will be finished with an Elizabethan-inspired ruff to serve as the headpiece that Grayson desires. In keeping with the design brief, the ruff also draws attention away from the shoulders, and in order to accentuate Grayson’s legs a sheer overlay could be substituted for the semi-opaque main fabric that is currently swatched.
