In my hometown, a small county in Sichuan, I have seen many children who have been separated from their parents since childhood. From time to time, they would reveal sadness and longing that are not in line with their age.
Based on the description of the documentary and my personal experience, I want to record and express their inner sense of loneliness and good wishes to live with parents by illustrations. It is also expected to attract more people’s attention to left-behind children.
I decided to use collage and pop-up books to express the anguish of parents and children who are in the same world but separated from each other.
