In 2014, approximately 51 trillion micro-plastic particles floated in the Earth's water, equating to 500 times the number of stars in the Milky Way. According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, if current trends continue, plastic will be more than all ocean fish by 2050 (by weight). Refill stations can reduce our single-use consumption significantly since we can purchase most of our everyday goods without unnecessary packaging. How can we encourage people to switch to a more sustainable shopping lifestyle from refill stations through good design?
