Kaleidoscope is the autumn/winter 2021 collection by Fairuz Adlina which is focused on womenswear. Fairuz Adlina is a new emerging print designer, a final year student, soon to graduate from London College of Fashion. Kaleidoscope is full of exciting and mesmerizing geometric prints, influenced by different and interesting sources including 1968 sci-fi film, 2001: A Space Odyssey produced by Stanley Kubrick. This collection explores a spatial concept, mixed with shapes, lines, camera effects, mirroring, layering of large and small-scale prints, angular shapes, and grain texture. The combination of these sources has inspired to produce a range of captivating yet fashionable geometric prints, and it makes a refreshing twist to the pattern. Fabric range of this collection are elastane and textured wool, silk, polyamide, and cotton. Each print design is very detailed and considered through both shapes and colours. The colour palette is inspired by Fairuz’s photographs and film scenes of 2001: A Space Odyssey film, which are purple, magenta, dark blue, black, brown fused with bright colours such as orange, bright blue and yellow.
