Inspired by traditional Chinese garment and porcelain pattern, I designed this dress for Perry. Since the symbol of fish means luck in Chinese culture, I wish to bring luck to Perry through this dress. Embroidered fish pattern will be applied and be connected to other part of garment by traditional Chinese knot, both of which requires handcraft skills gradually disappearing today. The combination between traditional techniques and contemporary deconstructed silhouette conveys my consideration about the relationship between tradition and today, which is the issue confronted by lots of artist as well.
