My original source of inspiration were renaissance paintings that capture a poetic sadness on the faces of young men and women.I began my research trying to have in mind those eerie saddened faces as if they were bleeding of their own sufferings. People oppressed and captured by the rules set up from their society norms. I decided to use silk muslin, as its texture is a close representation of a real flowers petal, and I dyed it red as though it is bleeding. Muslin has the property to shrink and wrinkle when being wet with color, reminding more of a withered flower.
