This is a self directed project that I began a few months ago during lockdown in my family home in Sweden. The topic is for a film rendition of the Book of Esther within the Holy Bible. As a born again Christian I love the Bible and it's ultimate power and authority, and great spiritual beauty that can change and transform those who embrace it's message of repentance, baptism and salvation in Jesus Christ, God's Son. I really enjoyed researching the environment of this Biblical Book: 5th Century B.C.E Persia. I enjoyed showing Divine spiritual symbolism through the Biblical Character boards. Originally, costumes of this time would have been made from wool or linen, but due to lockdown restraints, and this being the closest thing to what I was looking for, I chose to use Polyester. The heavy embroidery used in Royal gowns was achieved through Picot Embroidery, which I felt gave a nice 3D effect to the garment, in addition to sewing seed bead flowers onto this. The crown and veil were also interesting to create. The crown construction was made out of chicken wire, which proved to be a solid, yet flexible material to use.
