'Ogle' is a surreal instructional video on how to behave as a human being. I was looking in to a lot of the stereotypes of perfection in lifestyle, diet, suburbia and performativity, and I appear in the video in drag as a plastic lawn flamingo which I have used to represent the sterility of the 'perfect life'. I wanted to reference modern society's obsession with aesthetics too, which is why everything is so carefully composed, with the fiddling hands that come in and adjust the food shots representing the obsession with perfection. The majority of the props in the film were handmade too so that I could keep it all within the same world, bringing in all my skills in illustration, graphic design, 3D construction, packaging and jewellery making to contribute to a cohesive whole.
