A communication between past and future; the known and the unknown. I became interested in the idea of the tomb as something that captures and immortalises its subject. Built to last, despite marking an end, it acts as a bridge between past and future, and life and death. Tomb-like objects are found in every human civilization and they mark specific cultures. I wanted to consider the tomb on a greater scale of time and space as a marker for humanity as its own civilization. I created the tomb from an other-worldly perspective trying to make sense of the human race. The lone spaceman crosses over to another world and carries with him faint echoes of earth. The spacesuit becomes his coffin as he becomes a misperceived deity.
