Due to my course requirements, my FMP needed to be tailored to a specific consumer. This created the opportunity to create two collections, based around the same concept with two very different outcomes. My hand in collection, being a more ready to wear approach to design, focused on tailoring and juxtaposing fabrics. With this, I tried to incorporate a humorous approach, creating inside jokes and gimmicks within the clothes and designs that would make the consumer laugh. This idea of using humour in my design process stems from looking into Duchamp’s readymade series and his attitude towards his work, one which I can relate to.
