MA Performance Design and Practice
Jingyi Yu is a London-based artist that works with sculpture, performance, video, and installation. Her work presents the uncanny ordinary through blurring boundaries and creating illusions. She wants to investigate how the environment shapes human behaviour, starting from a multidimensional cognitive connection between the self, the individual, and the group, e.g., phenomena that are seen but ignored and using devices and multiple performances to allow participants to think for themselves and develop their own models of understanding, observing the different reactions of participants and the different outcomes of their judgments in the process, to come up with some open definitions. She studied BA in Stage Design at Turin Academy of Fine Arts and MA in Performance Design and Practice at Central Saint Martins.
