Yue Chen - Graduate

About me

Yue Chen is a textile designer and artist from China. After finishing a two-year Fashion and Textile Design course at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology in China in 2018, Yue went on to study Fahion Textile: Embroidery at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. Yue likes to find inspiration from nature. Her collections "Liquid Floral", "Lovely Shadow" and "Sunken Light" are inspired by plants and creatures in nature. As a designer who gives attention to sustainable fashion, Yue focuses on how to encorporate sustainable materials into her textile design. For example, in the "Sunken Light" collection, she combined her own biodegradable plastics with other materials, and finally made homemade crystal beads from drops of glue. In addition, Yue is good at making her own accessories using waste materials such as fabric and yarn. These are her performances in the field of sustainability.
