Yueyi Zhang - Graduate

About me

My name is Yueyi Zhang，a full-time theatre design student in University of the Arts London since 2017. I enjoy adding a unique perspective to my work in order to make each piece memorable. My design focuses more on the expression of artistic conception, and because of my background culture, I ’m trying to find a meeting point in traditional Chinese aesthetics and contemporary culture. Based on this, the unity of imaginary and real, figurative and abstract, limited and infinite is used in my paintings and designs. I believe the stage emphasizes the harmony and poetry of the picture as much as painting. So I will determine the tone of the script based on the concept, and retain the main clues, and express the extracted content through minimal visual information to support the performance of the actors and leave enough space for the audience to imagine.
